This Crusted Port is a blend of premium quality wines from recent harvests chosen by Peter Symington and his son Charles, primarily from the Rio Torto district of the Upper Douro Valley.
This carefully selected blend has been made especially for Fortnum & Mason.
It has been matured in oak casks for three years and subsequently bottled without any fining or filtration (to retain the delicious fruit concentration). The bottles were then cellared for a further three years prior to release.
The bottle-ageing is key to developing Crusted Port’s superb balance, complexity and style.
Whilst developing in bottle it will have thrown a sediment or crust and should therefore be decanted.
