The brand Dom Pérignon is named after the 17th century Benedictine monk and wine maker Dom Pierre Pérignon, credited with being the first to master natural effervescence that is so crucial to Champagne. Dom Pérignon Champagne is only produced as a vintage when climatic conditions favour the ideal balance of sugar and acidity in the grapes. It is made exclusively from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, the two noblest grapes of the region. Together they produce wines that have the ability to age with grace and elegance.
