Established in 1930, today Château Musar is run by the third generation of the Hochar family with vineyards at 1000 meters above sea level in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley. The 2013 harvest at Château Musar could be summarised in one word – elegance. The wine spent a year in oak barrels for before blending in the spring of 2016, the 2013 vintage was bottled during the summer of 2016 with the release in 2020.
A dense deep red with the characteristic sweet-savoury-spicy blend of Cinsault, Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon. Elegance and roundness abound with a spice-dominant palate – liquorice, clove, cinnamon with a warm coulis of red fruits. There are raspberries and blueberries on the palate, integrated and balanced with fine tannin.
