This Merlot-dominated claret is a great example of a mature Saint Emilion that shows all the benefits from sixteen years ageing in the property’s cellars. The notes of liquorice and fresh plum scents on the nose transcend to the palate, which has silky, sweet cherry fruit, with added notes of mushrooms and cedar wood on the finish. Best served with grilled meats, lamb, veal or steaks, Asian food also, and cheeses, avoid blue and goat cheese.
