Hampers Tim French talks about:
The Fortmason Hamper
This festive hamper boasts some of our favourite seasonal things, such as Fortnum’s Cranberry Sauce, made with juicy oranges and Fortnum’s LBV Port, and our light and elegant St James Christmas Pudding, enriched with our best rum and cognac. Warm spices are much in evidence, in the Christmas Spiced Marmalade, Christmas Spiced Biscuits, Mulled Wine Spices and even the Christmas Tea, with its subtle hints of clove and star anise. Add chocolates, chutney and coffee and you have the makings of a fantastic feast.
The Burlington Hamper
The 3rd Earl of Burlington appreciated the finer things in life, so this hamper full of sweet luxuries would have suited him nicely. As well as traditional sweets, three different tins of biscuits and some deliciously sharp lemon curd, there is Earl Grey Classic Tea, Sandringham Coffee, strawberry preserve, marmalade and a very indulgent apricot-and-ginger fruitcake made with Fortnum’s Cognac. This is a comforting and substantial feast to enjoy at home or away.
The Christmas Tea Hamper
Afternoon tea seems particularly tempting on a cold and wintry afternoon, so we have packed this hamper with some seasonal treats to add a festive touch to your tea. Our Christmas Tea is filled with subtle notes of cloves, star anise and mulled wine spices and is nicely complemented by our new Banquet Biscuits, made with clotted cream and soft, dried cranberries. There are also three spiced preserves, a tin of County Biscuits, Assam Superb Tea and our deliciously crumbly St James Christmas Cake. Add a tin of dark-roasted Christmas Coffee and our exclusive Emma Bridgewater mug, and a lovely afternoon lies ahead.
The Classic Christmas Hamper
Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without certain essential ingredients, such as mulled wine spices, Christmas pudding and Fortnum’s Cognac Butter, so all of these and more can be found in this hamper. We’ve added a few new ideas, too; our Mulled Wine Jelly is made with good-quality claret, sweet spices and a scattering of gold leaf; our almonds are roasted with Christmas spices and our biscuit tin winds up to play a classic Christmas carol. Finally, to ensure a proper celebration, we’ve included Côtes du Rhône, Bourgogne Blanc and a bottle of our Jubilee Blanc de Blancs Champagne.
The Epicure Hamper
There is nothing we like more than to please the epicure, so this hamper is filled with exclusive Fortnum’s pleasures, such as fragrant Rose Petal Jelly, our famously soft and chewy Florentines and an intensely orangey Nonpareil Marmalade. To drink you will find a rich Demi-sec Champagne, a new Pinot Blanc from Alsace – undoubtedly the epicure’s wine – and our new Cherry Liqueur, a heady infusion of cherries in apple eau de vie that is made especially for Fortnum’s by the renowned Julian Temperley.
The Christmas Feast Hamper
Certain essentials are required for a proper Christmas feast, such as smoked salmon, Stilton, cranberry sauce and Christmas pudding. This inspiring hamper provides the very best of these festive staples as well as Fortnum’s coffee, chocolate biscuits and Turkish Delight, and a few exciting extras that we’ve added for good measure. These include Fortnum’s London Dry Gin, which uses Seville oranges as a key botanical; our newly listed and very special Tokaji; and a caddy of Old Silver Teapot tea, an historic blend discovered in our archives and revived for our tea-loving customers.
